Elena’s face burned with embarrassment. Not only was she fighting her desire to jump him. And boy, did she really want to. Her lips tingled with the need to kiss him. Her mouth salivated as she imagined licking every beautiful, exposed inch of him. The last thing she needed to do was give every listening ear a special show.

Grrr.

When she did kiss him. If he wanted to, that was. It would not be with an audience. She stopped her growling. So, what if he’d just pretty much announced they’d fucked to a house full of supernaturals. Three of whom were just outside the door. It wasn’t like they didn’t already know.

Shit. Shit. SHIT.

“Uh, well, that is, uh,” Elena tried, but found she couldn’t really answer him.

What could she say that would even make sense to him? Let alone make up for what she’d done.

Sorry, I was embarrassed after I went into my heat, saw you, and couldn’t keep my hands off you?

Wait. Did he say the best sex of his life? Warmth filled her and Elena could not stop the grin from spreading across her face. Even better was the return smile he gifted her with. A thousand watts of unadulterated male hotness, and it was all aimed at her. Just for her. The knowledge made her inner kitty purr.

Prrr.

Kingston walked in before she could say anything else. Good. At least the big fucker wasn’t just lurking in the hallway anymore. Holley was with him, and so was Fergie, who inched her way over to where she’d dropped her shoes and bag. The she-Wolf hated going barefoot

“Excuse me, folks, gotta run,” she said, then winked at Elena, who really wanted to just disappear at that moment.

“Hello. You’re Logan?” Kingston addressed the normal, his voice booming with power. “Are you well enough to talk?”

“I think so yes, I was just dizzy before---”

“Dizzy? Hang on a moment,” Holley said, moving towards the table where she’d left tiny bottles of potions.

“Here,” she said, handing him a vial. “Drink this, it will help you fight off the poison.”

“What poison? And what is this?” Logan said, eyebrows furrowed.

His handsome face paled, and Elena rushed to his side before he could tip off the bed. Something was wrong. He was not responding to the antidotes as well as they’d expected.

“You must drink that vial, Logan,” Holley repeated.

He looked up, hazel eyes boring into Elena’s, and she saw the question there. She nodded her head, encouragingly. Hardly expecting him to trust her, but needing him well, Elena implored him to drink it.

“We are here to help you, Logan. I swear it. And I promise, I will answer every question you have, but please, drink the vial first.”

He looked at her with a serious mien, hazel eyes capturing her expression, and validating her veracity. It was like she could see the wheels in his head turning as he weighed his options and her sincerity.

“I want you to know,” he said, speaking to her. “This is difficult for me.
